Meet Mauritius is an independent guide to Mauritius and Rodrigues for people planning a trip. It brings together 250 places to stay, eat and explore, 15 travel guides and a map of the whole island, so you can plan a trip in one place.
How places get on the site
Listings are free. Each place is researched one by one from its own website, official sources (such as government park and heritage bodies) and its public map location. We describe what the business or the managing body itself says it offers, and we don't copy in third-party reviews.
Businesses can suggest a listing, and so can visitors. Every suggestion is checked in the same way before it goes on the site.
Practical and safety information
Our planning guides on entry rules, health, safety and the weather are based on official sources such as the Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office, Mauritius Meteorological Services and government travel advice, and they link to those sources. Rules can change, so check the official page before you travel.
Photos
Photos are free-licence images (from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr and Unsplash) or the businesses' own photos, and each one is credited on the photo credits page. Places without a suitable photo show a simple placeholder rather than a stock image of somewhere else.
