Caverne Patate

Caverne Patate is a cave attraction on the coral plain in the southwest of Rodrigues. The Rodrigues Tourism Office describes a long natural tunnel with stalactite and stalagmite formations, reached by a stone stairway. The cave is visited with a guide, who can explain the rock formations along the route. The Tourism Office says access is organised in scheduled sessions during the day, so this is a planned excursion rather than an open, independent walk-in site.

The cave is managed by Discovery Rodrigues Co. Ltd, and guided visits are conducted by guides at the site. In 2026, the Rodrigues Tourism Office also announced the opening of a dedicated visitor centre for Caverne Patate. The cave is near Grand La Fouche Corail. Wear suitable footwear and follow the guide’s safety instructions inside the cave.
