Alexandra Falls Viewpoint

Alexandra Falls Viewpoint is beside Alexandra Falls in Black River Gorges National Park in Mauritius' south-west. The National Parks and Conservation Service identifies facilities at Alexandra Falls, including a viewing point. The wider park covers upland and lowland forest as well as heathland, with changing conditions across its interior. It is managed to conserve endemic plants and animals and to provide opportunities for public education and recreation.

For a longer outing, the park service lists the Paille en Queue trail between Alexandra and Plaine Champagne as a 3 km moderate route. A separate 3 km return trail from Alexandra Falls to Cascade des Gallets is marked strenuous. These are hikes rather than part of the short viewpoint stop, so visitors can choose a route to suit their plans. The viewpoint provides a named stop within the national park, close to the trails and falls.
