bikes.mu is a scooter and bicycle hire firm on Royal Road in Grand Baie, next to the mosque. The fleet is automatic scooters from 125cc to 200cc, from makers such as Suzuki and SYM, plus mountain bikes in medium and large frame sizes.

Scooters and bikes are delivered to hotels, apartments and villas in the north: Grand Baie, Pereybère, Pointe aux Canonniers, Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches, Pointe aux Biches, Balaclava, Cap Malheureux, Calodyne and Grand Gaube. Other areas are by arrangement. The minimum rental is three days, and longer rentals get a discount.

A helmet, third-party insurance and reflective vests come with every rental, and there is no deposit: you book online and pay when the vehicle is handed over. Scooters come with a full tank and go back full. A national licence covers scooters up to 125cc; anything larger needs a motorcycle licence.
