About Chamarel Waterfall
Chamarel Waterfall drops through wooded hills near Chamarel in the south-west of Mauritius. It is part of the Chamarel 7 Coloured Earth Geopark, but is a distinct natural sight with its own viewing stops along the park route. Two viewpoints overlook the falls, which are surrounded by dense vegetation. The setting makes this a scenic pause as well as a starting point for exploring the surrounding highlands.
From the main entrance, the waterfall is about 1.5 km by car, with parking at the waterfall area. Visitors can also walk from the entrance toward the dunes, passing viewpoints over the falls; the full round trip to the dunes is 6 km.
