About Red Phoenix Restaurant

Red Phoenix Restaurant serves Chinese and Mauritian home-style food at 21 Mère Barthélemy Street in central Port Louis, in a dining room with a sleek, upscale look and a friendly atmosphere. It opens for lunch and dinner, and dishes can also be ordered online for pickup.

The long menu runs from spring rolls, octopus in saffron and crispy chicken to seafood and crab soups, chicken satay, beef in black pepper sauce and stir-fried venison. Mauritian favourites sit alongside the Chinese dishes: rougaille beef and Creole sausage, octopus curry and vindaye of octopus or fish with mustard seed, garlic and turmeric. There are fried noodles and meefoon, fried rice and bol renversé, the island's upturned rice bowl.

Vegetarians have a good choice too: tofu in black bean, satay or spicy sauce, vegetable chop suey, vegetable fried noodles and a vegetable bol renversé.
